Network (LAN) Administrator

As a Network/LAN Administrator, you will be responsible for providing vital on-site services for various information management and information technology support activities at Moody Air Force Base, GA. This role is critical for maintaining the operational integrity and security of the 23 Medical Group's network infrastructure. In addition, provide support for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and administration of the information systems and network servers such as: (including, but not limited to) Remote Access Servers (RAS), Fax Servers, Print Servers, Compact Disc (CD) Towers, File, Print and Application Servers. You basically are the guy or gal that the customer come to for rescue when it come to Network & LAN 😊.
These are the REQUIRED Qualifications (MUST meet ALL (no exceptions)):
  • U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Current certification in either the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Course C or the American Red Cross CPR/BLS.
  • Azure Administrator Associate, OR Azure Solutions Architect Expert, OR Azure Security Engineer and Associate with at least 2 years of experience in LAN Administrator duties.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • CompTIA Network+ certification.
  • CompTIA A+ certification.
  • Experience with more than one server operating system and various Microsoft products, UNIX, and Virtual Memory System (VMS).
Role Responsibilities:
  • Manage and configure multiple server operating systems and ensure effective internetworking between these systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity problems.
  • Maintain proficiency in scripting with administrative languages like PERL, Win Script, or other scripting applications.
  • Perform, maintain, and document Disaster (Contingency) Recovery Procedures.
  • Expertly manage complex TCP/IP networking protocols, such as WINS, DHCP, VPN, DNS, PPP, SLIP, and VMS.
  • Configure and maintain Redundant Arrays of Inexpensive Disks (RAID) and understand the OSI model.
  • Create and maintain all Medical Group user accounts in Active Directory.
  • Install all Microsoft and other software vendors critical security patches on all servers as applicable.
  • Eliminate excess connections, clean-up current cables, and label essential drops in the communications rooms.
  • Install, configure, modify, update, upgrade, and troubleshoot various internetworking hardware and software, including production and test hubs, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls and VPN devices in a LAN/WLAN/VPN environment.
  • Manage and participate in network upgrade and expansion planning, as needed.
  • Implement and maintain the 23 MDG’s LAN/WLAN/VPN-related security policies.
  • Ensure all health requirements are met, including vaccinations and tuberculosis tests as recommended by CDC and AFI 48-105.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on network administration processes, e.g., current network diagrams, copies of device configurations, and standard operating procedures for tasks.
  • Support cell phones (iOS devices, etc.) management and establish, disable, and transfer accounts, etc.
Work Environment:
  • The LAN Administrator will operate in a dynamic and secure military healthcare environment at Moody Air Force Base, GA, focusing on the mission-critical needs of the 23 Medical Group.
Physical Demands:
The position may involve physical activities associated with setting up and maintaining IT equipment, including servers and network devices. Meeting the health requirements outlined is essential for the role.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
  • Must be able to communicate regularly via telephone and verbally present information to employees, customers, and outside vendors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Expected Hours of Work
40 hours per week based on the customer’s core operating hours.
Compensation
Annual Salary Range 65K-70K
