Job Title: System Administrator - Nevada

Smarthost are interested in adding an experienced System Administrator position to support our customer network infrastructure. The ideal candidate is expected to have at least 2-3 years experience in a windows server/network admin role with hand-on experience working with server tools and management with verifiable result for system uptime and customer satisfaction.
Maintains network operation and server administration support services using windows server tools. Configure server share, printer server, remote access, and provide configuration support for Sophos firewall, switches, access points, and other network devices, Applications, network protocols, installation of applications, file storage, and retrieval methods, and ability to analyze and specify configuration for network and computer and devices.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must have experience with databases, networks, upgrading hardware and software, designing networks, laying out the infrastructure for LANs, troubleshooting network outages and user troubles and the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Familiarity with cloud applications like Office365, Google Cloud Platform, and AWS.
  • Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems, while answering technical queries and assisting users
  • Manage network servers and technology tools, applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes and monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.
  • Installing and configuring new hardware and software.
  • Setting up new users and giving them access to the intranet and adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting passwords, etc.
  • Performing regular security tests and security monitoring
  • Maintaining networks and network file systems
  • Monitoring the internet connection for security risks
  • Employing the latest security protocols
  • Monitoring the local area network (LAN) for threats or errors
​Experience Skills and Qualifications
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology, related field of study (preferred but not required), or equivalent work experience
  • Valued Qualifications (not required)
    • 2-3 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Experience
    • A minimum of two years’ experience working as a systems administrator
  • Certificates 
    • A+/A+ ce and Security+/Security+ ce certification
    • Microsoft certifications - MCP, or similar
  • Clearance
    • Secret
  • Microsoft (OS) Experience
    • Windows 7, 8, 10, OS Experience and Windows 2008 Server or newer  
    • Ubuntu, and others is a plus
    • Microsoft Office/troubleshooting (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, InfoPath, etc.)
    • Managing Exchange Server (Outlook (RPC), Web Access, SMTP, and POP3), Hosted
  • Hardware
    • Server Installation troubleshooting
    • Server / Network / TCP IP / Storage / Security / Web Administration
    • Managing and maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server Environment.
    • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end-user workstation hardware, software, printing, scanning, and peripheral devices.
    • TCP/IP Administration for support on Windows Server
    • Installation and Software Maintenance
    • Recommending, scheduling, and performing network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Experience with Sophos, Cisco and Citrix technologies remote connect tools

Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Local travel is estimated to be 10-25 percent of the time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.  

Work Schedule. 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday – Friday. Normal duty hours are 8 hours per day
